Oh, how aphids like to suck the life out of new rose leaves. By doing this, aphids leave a sticky residue to which fungi spores can adhere and cause further debilitating attacks on the plant. While mooching in the garden today, I noticed new leaves forming on the climbing rose, Wild Eve, and they were illuminated in the sunshine. When I looked down my macro camera lens, I noticed a small aphid there. I'm not sure what the miniscule white insect is, some kind of mite or spider perhaps?
